Florentine embroidery design "plaiting"
 |
| design"plaiting" |
In this design all stitches
are worked over four threads. They are worked in groups of two stitches,
which are two holes lower or two threads higher then the two stitches
just made. One diagonal row exist always of eight groups of two stitches.
This pattern is more difficult then for instance "zigzag" or
"cathedral", because there are no continuing zigzag row of
stitches in one color. Two colors are used each in four shades, blue
and pink-red. The small squares between the skew quadrangles consist
of four groups of two stitches in black.
Below there are two very
clear working-drawings.
