no 9. joegoslavien motif

motif from Bosnië
motif from Bosnia

At the left, a pattern out of Savi, a town in Bosnia

Different from most borders this one has a more vertical orientation. You can use it very well as a border for a sampler, with for instance alphabets, especially when the height of that sampler is bigger then the width. This often is the case with older examples. Alongside a working drawing of the motif and below a working drawing of the motifimage, where you can see that it is also possible to use the design for a border around the whole of a sampler.
